KILL AND BE KILLED

Everyone has a stance on the death penalty. Polling has found, you're either for or against, rarely do you you find someone who has no opinion.

I believe if you kill, you should be killed.

THE EXPENSE ISSUE :

Many people who oppose the death penalty say that it is more expensive to execute someone than to incarcerate.

Unfortunately, because of our screwed up legal system, this is true.

These days, it is all too common for someone to be on death row for up to twenty-five years.

When a death row inmate is allowed unlimited appeals, not only do we as taxpayers have to pay for their incarceration, we're also stuck with the bill for their defense.

Years ago, the purpose of an appeal was to make sure that the condemned was indeed the right person convicted of the crime.

These days it is just a tool that these cowards use to extend their sorry excuse for a life.

Although some have been wrongly convicted, the overwhelming majority on death row deserve to be there.
DNA has come so far, wrongful convictions are rapidly becoming a thing of the past.

I believe that if DNA evidence is used in a trial, and one is convicted, there is no question...YOU'RE GUILTY.

In my world, with a DNA conviction you get one appeal, just to make sure, then your sentence is carried out within 30 days.

Finally, the tables would be turned. It would be more expensive to keep these bums alive then to get rid of them.

THE HARD LIFE :

For those fools who say that because of the hard life, rough childhood or any other excuse they come up with, those convicted should get life in prison, I say bullshit.

I have yet to come across some one who hasn't had a trying time in their life. Does that mean they shouldn't be held accountable for their actions? Hell no.

Too many in today's society don't take responsibility for the choices that they make.

NO DETERRENT :

Ah yes. The death penalty is not a deterrent.

Another load of crap. I guarantee if a potential murderer knew that within thirty days of their conviction it would be lights out for them, there would be some second thoughts before committing the crime and a lot less killings in this world.

Of course, some idiots don't care about the consequences of their actions. In those cases, we're better off without them anyway.

IT'S INHUMANE :

More crap. Strap on those boots it's getting thick in here.

How humane is it for the victims of these degenerates?

Most victims know they're going to die. It could be seconds, minutes, or hours before it happens.

What about the sons, daughters, husbands, wives, and friends that are left to deal with the tragedy of never seeing their loved ones again?

To me, that is the only inhumane part of this equation.

THE BOTTOM LINE :

I believe, if you kill someone, whether it's first, second, or in the third degree as defined by the law, it's your time to go.
